Rare 1880s Luigi Freschi Via Condotti (Roma, Italy)Tin Image of St. Joseph and the Child " /Jesus in Wooden and Fabric Covered Frame. This rare religious art measures 9 1/4" tall, 8 1/2" wide and frame depth of 1". Wooden frame with scrolling leaf design along bottom front edge. Background and outer and part of the outer edges of the frame are fabric covered. It appears it was a moss green velvet. Much of the velvet has worn away and a couple of minor tears in the fabric--please see pictures for details and condition. Tin relief of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus. It measures 5 1/2" tall and 5" wide. It is in good condition with the exception of the tip of Jesus's nose and upper lip--a little of the silver metal is missing. Regardless, this is an extraordinary piece of religious artwork. The back of the frame is stamped Luigi Freschi Via Condotti, 55, 55a, 56, 57, ROMA. Also on the back is written in marker 299T.
